The City of Woonsocket is a “City on the Move”. It is in the heart of the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor with a Vintage Stadium Theater, the Corporate Home of CVS, a fortune 500 company, where business and community work together to build a strong economy. In Woonsocket one will find the area affordable, with diverse housing choices, quality health care, skilled labor force and a modern progressive public school system. Woonsocket is currently building two new “state of the art” identical middle schools each supporting 880 students on a 22 acre campus with playing fields, green space, and bike path access.

Woonsocket School Department Boasts of

  • In 2004, Woonsocket High School received a full unconditional NEASC exemplary accreditation, the only Urban High School in Rhode Island to receive such distinction
